Kaitie was laid off due to downsizing of the organization she worked for since 2014. Not having been a job seeker in several years Kaitie struggled to gain a foothold in unsubsidized employment. Kaitie’s lack of confidence played into her ability to present as a viable candidate for businesses where she interviewed.
After meeting with her internship coordinator, Kaitie’s enthusiasm and excitement became reignited. Focusing on Kaitie’s strengths and skills, they reframed her resume, polished up her cover letter, and practiced interviewing techniques. After being referred to an internship opportunity with Center for Adult Learning (CAL) Kaitie was offered an internship as an Office Assistant.
2 months into her internship Kaitie was offered a full-time un-subsidized position working in an administrative role for Asset Campus Housing, a property management company, earning a marketable wage with benefits. Her internship with CAL helped give Kaitie the boost in confidence she needed to shine and show employers she was someone that brought value to their business.
