Workforce Success Story Submitted By: Pikes Peak Workforce Center
Earl came into the Pikes Peak Workforce Center in the fall of 2020 for assistance in developing his career path into IT. His coming to us was a result of a new partnership between PPWFC and Pikes Peak Community College. Earl qualified for the young adult WIOA program and was a good fit for a work experience.
Workforce Solution
Following attendance in the Work Readiness Seminar, Earl applied for an internship with Blockframe, Inc., which is one of the companies that partners with PPWFC and the PPCC IT department’s academic internship program. Through the partnership, Earl completed his internship for his associate degree while earning a paycheck through the PPWFC Work Experience program.
Outcomes & Benefits
Earl successfully completed his internship to build new experience into his resume and completed his academic requirements for his associate degree in IT. Earl’s story demonstrates what can happen when workforce and higher education combine to support job seekers.
