Katrina is enrolled in our job development program. She had accepted a Data Scientist position with a government contracted employer, but there was a long wait on an extensive background check that had already taken months. She was not getting responses from employers.
Workforce Solution
The WBC Job Developer learned that Katrina's accepted position had been re-opened and that she was no longer being considered. Career exploration options were discussed. A science/education pathway was targeted as a good fit her more immediate needs. A school was targeted through the job development process and she was coached on how to apply and interview for the position.
Outcomes & Benefits
Katrina was hired as a full-time Special Education Teacher with Sierra School. This placement meets her immediate needs and provides her with a great career pathway and springboard to other jobs in this field.
