Carol was laid off after 10+ years when her job was sent off-shore. After
being laid off Carol realized her desire to work in Human Resources and go
back to school. Being unemployed made it so she did not have the
financial resources to go back to school on her own.
Workforce Solution
Carol had one on one counseling at the Business & Workforce Center (BWC)
and they helped her apply for Trade Adjustment Act (TAA) and Workforce
Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to assist with the cost of her education.
BWC also helped Carol with career advising and guidance, support and
inspiration, tutoring, workshops, and hiring events.
Outcomes & Benefits
Carol completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management
with Human Resources Concentration from Metropolitan
University of Denver. The BWC has continued to support
me in my job search and assisted me in obtaining a Human Resources
Business Partner internship with Boston Market.
