Workforce Challenge
Sharlyn, at age 50, had lost everything including her job and eventually her home. She was a single mom to a daughter that also became a single mom herself. All three of them were homeless for a while until they moved in with her parents.
Workforce Solution
Despite Sharlyn's strong work history and years of experience, she was unable to find a job and came to the Blue Lion Center in Omaha for assistance. With help from the Center, Sharlyn received training and assistance to begin a new career as a Medical Assistant.
Outcomes & Benefits
Sharlyn is currently employed and graduated from her training program with a GPA well above 3.0.
