Shasta is married and has 3 young children. She and her husband have been struggling to make ends meet. Both were unemployed, and although her husband is a member of the National Guard, the pay was not enough to support a family of 5.
Workforce Solution
Shasta began visiting the WorkOne Center in Eastern Indiana in the beginning of 2010. She was using the Center as a resource to conduct an independent job search, but without success. The staff at the WorkOne Center began working with Shasta on her job search, and recommended the “Earn While You Learn Workshop” which prepares customers for On-the-Job Training. In August of 2010, an On-the-Job Training Administrative position became available and Shasta was selected by the employer. WorkOne Eastern Indiana assisted Shasta with work clothes, gas mileage and special training that was required by her new employer.
