Santana was a single mom raising her child with an unemployment check as her only source of income. She decided it was time for a change and a new career field.
Workforce Solution
Santana was referred to the WIA Program at the Greene County Career Center where staff helped her enroll in the Medical Office Program at Lenoir Community College. In May 2014, she graduated with honors from Lenoir Community College and earned her Associate in Applied Science degree in Medical Office Administration.
Outcomes & Benefits
Santana dedicated herself to achieving her goals and balanced her studies with raising her child. She is now employed full time as a medical secretary for the Internal Medicine Office at Kinston Medical Specialists and has full employee benefits.
