Mckenzie is a single mom who began working with WDS Jenn McKee in June and enrolled in CW Step in July. Mckenzie was looking for an opportunity to work in the administrative field and needed targeted experience to round out her resume.
Workforce Solution
Mckenzie attended our Pikes Peak Workforce Center young adult Work Readiness Series 2.5-day workshop in early July 2019 and received her "Bring Your A-Game" certificate. Following the workshop Mckenzie interviewed with the Women’s Resource Agency for a paid internship and was accepted. At the Women’s Resource Agency she excelled in the administrative duties and in assisting customers with services.
Outcomes & Benefits
During this time as an intern, Mckenzie continued her search for permanent employment. She successfully completed her internship by landing a permanent position with Peak Vista Community Health Centers as a Customer Service Representative in October 2019.
