Workforce Challenge
Andrea is a single mother of one child who was having difficulties finding stable childcare and was also struggling with finding stable transportation to get to and from any potential employer.
Workforce Solution
Andrea was referred to Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) to find an available CCCAP childcare provider to care for her child. Through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Subsidized Training and Employment Program (STEP) Andrea was also provided with information about the bus system and was issued bus passes to help with transportation. Once having stable childcare and transportation Andrea was referred to attend several job readiness workshops to help with her job search efforts. Andrea attended the Soft skills workshop, Job search and Applications workshop as well as the resume workshop/lab.
Outcomes & Benefits
After attending the job readiness workshops and having an updated resume, Andrea was able to obtain employment at Centennial Health Center as an activities assistant.
