Workforce Success Story Submitted By: Employment Services of Weld County
Workforce Challenge
Felicity first enrolled in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program in November 2017, after only five months she was MIA. In January 2019, Felicity reached out again to re-enroll, promising a different outcome. However, she went on the run from the law just days after her 2nd enrollment making it extremely difficult to trust her request for enrollment in August 2019. This time she was pregnant and begged for the ability to make sure life would be better for her child.
Workforce Solution
After Felicity completed her third enrollment, she worked hard by attending the lab each day. Her belly grew and so did her knowledge in math, reading, science, and social studies.
Outcomes & Benefits
Felicity obtained her high school equivalency (HSE) four months after enrollment and one month prior to giving birth to her child. She attended graduation in January 2020 with her newborn baby in attendance to witness his mother cross the stage and collect her high school equivalency certificate.
