Workforce Challenge
Destiny is 19 years old and was in foster care and then adopted. She is now a freshman in college and has never held a job before. Because of growing expenses that her mother is not able to cover, she realized that she needed to have a job. Since she had no work history, she came to the WFC for assistance.
Workforce Solution
Upon speaking to Destiny, we realized that a Work Experience was the perfect match for her. She met all WIOA Youth In-School criteria. She helped picked the employer for the WE along with the WFC.
Outcomes & Benefits
Destiny has been in the WE and has gained the knowledge of having successful employment. She has learned the importance of showing up for work and on time, doing what her employer has asked her do, following instructions, and working with others in the business. She is now ready to move onto the next job and has a resume that shows experience. We believe that we have a job lined up with more hours yet allows her to be in classes at college.
