Workforce Challenge
Crystal came to the Ashland CEP, Inc. Office after having been out of the workforce for some time. She was ready to return on a part-time basis and needed assistance in finding employment.
Workforce Solution
Crystal was eligible for Transitional Jobs Demonstration Project, where she explored different job opportunities available in the area. An opening at the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce seemed to be a good fit. She interviewed for a clerical support opening at the Chamber and was offered the position. The Chamber staff gave Crystal great reviews during her time there. Crystal said that the Transitional Jobs Demonstration Project was her stepping stone and very instrumental in getting her back into the workforce.
Outcomes & Benefits
Through her experience with the project, Crystal proved to herself that she could get back into the workforce and be an asset to the Chamber or any other business. Currently, she is working at Northern Lights Manor in another clerical support position.
