Workforce Challenge
Brooke, a 17-year-old, single parent dropped out of school when she became pregnant before earning her HS Diploma. She was received public assistance and unemployed at the time of enrollment in the WIOA Out of School Youth program.
Workforce Solution
Through her case managers guidance, support, and her own drive Brook was able to enroll in our in house GED program and quickly prepare for and complete her High School Equivalency! Without pause Brook was assisted in entering a caregiver PCP program and placed in a paid work experience at an assisted living center allowing her to build the skills needed for workforce success. She was hired on by the worksite and has since entered and completed a Nurse Assistant training, obtained her Nurse Assistant licensing, and has enrolled in a local University to continue her Nursing Career Ladder with hope of becoming a Registered Nurse.
Outcomes & Benefits
With assistance from her WIOA Case Manager, Brooke was able to obtain her GED, enter unsubsidized employment and enroll in college towards a nursing degree that will benefit her and her young daughter in their path toward self sufficiency. Her case manager states "I am
