Workforce Success Story Submitted By: Employment Services of Weld County
Workforce Challenge
Alexsandra was involved with the judicial system and lacked a high school equivalency (HSE). The Weld County Department of Human Services (DHS) thought it best that she should be placed in TIGHT, a prevention program that helps youth in Weld County from being put into out-of-home placement.
Workforce Solution
Alexsandra started TIGHT in May 2019 and was given wrap-around services from Child Welfare, TIGHT and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which included comprehensive assessments, career guidance and Workplace Reediness Credential testing.
Outcomes & Benefits
Alexsandra received her HSE after 6 months and successfully graduated from the TIGHT program. She has plans to start a healthcare-related training program at the local community college.
