Business of Your Business, an accounting outsourcing solutions provider for not-for-profit and small businesses, wanted to hire new workers, but could not afford to train them.
Workforce Solution
Business of Your Business went to a Westchest/Putnam WIB One-Stop Center, where it was matched up with potential candidates registered with the center and was signed up to participate in the WIB's on-the-job program, which covered training costs by subsidizing a percentage of the new hires' wages for the first six months.
Outcomes & Benefits
During the past two years, Business of Your Business has hired two employees. According to Wiley Harrison, president of Business of Your Business, the WPWIB was instrumental in helping the company get the employees it needed, without having to incur all of the costs associated with bringing the new hires up to speed on their new jobs.
