Meet Zach

Workforce Challenge

Zach is a young man who has spent the last several years working low paying jobs without growth opportunities. In January 2009 he was laid off from his manufacturing job and decided to pursue his dream of working in the medical field. After completing an EMT program, Zach realized he wanted to continue his education and become a paramedic but did not have all the resources to do this on his own.

Workforce Solution

At this point Zach came into the Arkansas Workforce Center in Mountain Home seeking resources to make his goal of becoming a paramedic possible. Zach was approved to receive funding through WIA to help cover the costs of training. This funding assisted with tuition, books, testing fees, and other supplies.

Outcomes & Benefits

Zach worked very hard and his efforts paid off when he was hired to work part time for the local ambulance service. Upon completion of his paramedic training in December 2010, Zach was hired full time and is now serving his community.
