Meet Regina

Workforce Challenge

Regina came into the Arkansas Workforce Center in Harrison seeking assistance from WIA with her training. She had been accepted in to the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program at a local college and seen a flyer about WIA scholarships. She was a single mom with three kids and was receiving food stamps at the time of application. The scholarship would enable her to enroll in the LPN program.

Workforce Solution

Regina was approved for WIA scholarship and started classes. After a bumpy beginning, when circumstances forced her to drop out for part of a semester, Regina returned to the program the following semester and graduated as an LPN.

Outcomes & Benefits

Regina is now employed with North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. She is working in the ER and attending the bridge program from LPN to RN at the local college. Soon, she will attain certification as a registered nurse. Congratulations, Regina.
