Meet Angela

Workforce Challenge

Angela became unemployed in February, 2009. Nearly her entire work history since 2000 was in the mortgage industry as a loan processor. With the decline of this sector, she was having trouble finding a new job. she came to the Westminster One Stop Center for assistance in October, 2009.

Workforce Solution

At the Center, Angela used the Resource Center to search for job leads. She attended several workshops, including the Transferable Skills workshop, the Resume Writing workshop and Resume Critique workshop to assist her with preparing a great resume for job search. Under WIA services, Angela received one-on-one career counseling, resume development and job referrals. She also received assistance to purchase business attire through supportive services.

Outcomes & Benefits

During her job search, Angela found an open position at General Motors. With her refreshed resume, she applied and interviewed for the position and was quickly hired. Angela is still employed with General Motors in her position as a Loan Processor. She is making $24/hour plus commission.
