The company was planning significant equipment improvements, but in order to capitalize on those investments, needed to upgrade the skills of its employees.

Workforce Solution

The Workforce Investment Board of Will County provided funds for training through its Incumbent Worker Program to help the company prepare its employees for the new processes. Over 24 employees participated in several training modules that included quality control; implementation and use of the Vista manufacturing software program which impacts all company departments and addressed accounting, production, human resources, assembly, shipping, receiving, quality control, sales and more; welding instruction; basic machinery instruction; blueprint reading; and certification of all forklift drivers.

Many aspects of quality control have improved significantly. The Vista system enables all departments and personnel to quickly respond to customer inquiries, whether pre-production, during production or shipping.
