Meet Loetta

Workforce Challenge

Loretta was a forty year old single, unemployed, homeless mother of three with no transportation. While she had a high school diploma and some college, she needed to strengthen her education background to reach her goals and to be an inspiration to her children. Workforce Oklahoma (WIA programs) played an integral part in her future.

Workforce Solution

Loretta recieved occupational training, transportation assistance, assessments, clothing assistance, housing and utility assistance, and career counseling. She says, "Often times we are inspired because of those in our lives and that includes several people I met along my way in the WIA programs. My Case Manager took up a lot of her time just allowing me to cry on her shoulders and giving me the push that I sometimes needed. I just want to say thanks to Ms. Belcher and the WIA programs for working so hard to help me make my life what it is today."

Outcomes & Benefits

Loretta graduated college with a BS in Social Work. She is currently employed in her field working as a housing counselor and earning a sustainable wage that allows her to support her family.
