Workforce Challenge

Lorilee worked as an accounting clerk, and was laid off when the business closed. Although she had work experience, it was not enough expertise to land another job.

Workforce Solution

Lorilee had a strong desire to further her skills with training. She wanted to obtain an Associates Degree in Accounting. She felt that having the credential would make her a much stronger candidate for employment. Upon starting classes, Lorilee realized how much she needed to learn and was so glad she made the choice. Workforce Services Division of Will County provided Lorilee with the funding to attend Joliet Junior College.

Outcomes & Benefits

Lorilee finshed her Associates Degree in Accounting in December of 2010, and was able to obtain employment as a bookkeeper at Schold Machine. Lorilee loves the new job and is greatful to work for a good company. She would like to thank Workforce Services for the opportunity to better herself and especially her Career Advisor, Ranona, for encouraging her along the way.
