Meet Molly

Workforce Challenge

Molly was a single mother at age 16. She did not have a high school diploma or GED when she came to the Mesa County Workforce Center. Molly lacked the job skills and experience to land a job. The absence of a high school diploma or GED and solid work experience were making it difficult for Molly to lead the life she desired for herself and her family.

Workforce Solution

Molly enrolled in the youth program to obtain her GED at the age of 22. Through hard work, she obtained her GED and together we began working on identifying her interests for employment. Molly had aspirations of one day going to college, but did not yet have the confidence to take that step. Together we identified her interests and were able to place her in an internship where she was accepted and was given the room to grow and develop her dreams.

Outcomes & Benefits

Molly obtained her GED and skill development through her work experience. Once her internship was completed, Molly found permanent employment and was accepted into two different colleges. Molly now is employed and going to college and has found her confidence she needed to succeed.
