,Meet Erin

Workforce Challenge

Prior to being laid-off from her job in occupational medicine, Erin was an Occupational Therapist Assistant. Erin already possessed an associates degree in Occupational Therapist Assistance, but she was finding in her previous field of work that employers now wanted a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, which could take her more than two years to earn. Since she was a single mother, she needed to find employment as soon as possible. Returning to her previous choice of employment was not feasible at that time.

Workforce Solution

Erin came in to the workforce center for assistance. While there, our WFC guided Erin to the WIOA program to possibly help her obtain her Dental Assistant Certification to increase her marketability and help her gain a skill in a career that is in high demand. With the fiscal help and vocational guidance Erin received from myself and WIOA, she was approved for a scholarship to help her earn her certification.

Outcomes & Benefits

Erin successfully and recently completed her training and has had multiple interviews since graduating, resulting in a job offer. Erin has expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the WIOA program for all of their help.
