Meet Randall

Workforce Challenge

Workforce success followed a long and curved road for Army veteran Randall. His previous experience included jobs as a plant supervisor, truck driver, welder, mechanic, phlebotomist, telemarketer and landscape business owner. “I couldn’t do landscape and mechanic work anymore so I started looking at jobs where I could sit down,” said Randall. He desired a return to the open roads of commercial trucking but experience with the justice system created challenges to this dream.

Workforce Solution

With the help of his adult career counselor and through his own hard work, Randall earned his Workforce Center-funded Commercial Driver’s License which led to early release from parole more than a year early.

Outcomes & Benefits

Randall has been hired full time as a commercial truck driver with a regional gravel and asphalt hauling company. He recently took control of a big-rig asphalt hauler and a 20-yard commercial dump truck, contributing to the growth and development of projects throughout Colorado. “I’m blessed,” said Randall, wiping tears of joy from his eyes. “With all my struggles, I feel at peace – I’ve found my place, I’m part of society again and I can go anywhere I want."
