Meet Tina

Workforce Challenge

Tina came to us seeking training for a new occupation which would give her substantially more incone and job stability. She is a single mom of three. At the time she came in, she was working three jobs as a CNA in order to support her children. Tina was approved for food stamps but never collected. She chose instead to work 3 jobs.

Workforce Solution

Tina grew up in a family of several truck drivers. She decided to get her CDLA license so she could drive a tractor-trailer for a better income. She was approved for a WIOA grant to cover the cost of tuition for this training.

Outcomes & Benefits

Tina completed her training, obtained her CDLA license, and was hired full time as a local truck driver, making substantially more money than what she was earning. The local driving job enables her to be home with her children every day. She loves her new career.
