Meet Jesse

Workforce Challenge

Jesse was in need of increasing his networking & IT skills to meet qualifications for current job postings. Due to limited WIOA funding, ESWC was not able to proceed with training. During his initial appointment, it was recognized that Jesse had a solid set of marketable skills. He agreed to focus on job search and career services. Acknowledging that enhancing his skills (through training) would be beneficial to him, research for another grant program that could possibly provide assistance began.

Workforce Solution

Larimer County Workforce Center is piloting a new grant program, TEC-P, which assists individuals who have talent and expertise in computer/technical areas. Charlotte contacted Megan at the Larimer County Workforce Center and she agreed that TEC-P would be a good option for Jesse. Upon exhaustion of his unemployment, he was determined eligible for TEC-P and with tuition assistance from the TEC-P grant, he was able to enroll in training to further enhance his networking/IT skills. As he progressed through his training, Charlotte continued to assist with job search for Jesse. Before he completed the first of two components, he found employment in his field. He will continue his training and is expected to start his new job in the near future.

Outcomes & Benefits

It was a new experience for Weld County and Larimer County to partner together on behalf of a client. It was a gratifying experience for all – Weld County, Larimer County, and most importantly for Jesse.
