Meet Evangelina

Workforce Challenge

Evangelina had achieved obtaining her GED, was a current participant in a work experience as a person with no prior work history, and currently needed encouragement and help with updating her resume and preparation for the panel interview for the open position with the Adams County Employment First program. Evangelina also needed encouragement increasing her self confidence to apply for the position, get an interview, and to be selected as the new employee for Employment First.

Workforce Solution

Evangelina worked with WBC instructor Stephani Duke to update her resume and to build her interviewing skills. Stephani guided Evangelina on applying for the position, creating a phenomenal resume, and completed a mock interview which increased her outcome to be successful in landing the job. Evangelina also received motivation from her WIOA youth case manager and business development Representative, and the Employment First staff, which increased her confidence in being successful in her interview.

Outcomes & Benefits

Evangelina was selected as the Career Center Specialist I for the Adams County Workforce & Business Center Employment First program and officially started as a county employee in September 2016. This success story was a collaborative effort between the WBC instructor, WIOA youth case manager, business development representative, and Employment First staff who reached out to Evangelina, provided her with the tools and encouragement to believe in herself and to continue to grow as a young professional.
