Meet Evangelina

Workforce Challenge

Evangelina was enrolled into the Youth Succeed program to get assistance with acquiring her GED. She also requested experience getting work skills. She has had unpaid experience working with her mom and now seeks the opportunity to develop and increase her employment skills while working towards completing her GED.

Workforce Solution

Youth Succeed assisted with Evangelina's GED practice test fees and placement into a GED prep program offered through the Adams County Workforce & Business Center. Our in house instructor developed this GED prep program which has been a great benefit to Evangelina. Her regular attendance and participation in the classes were key to her success.
Evangelina was also referred to a program business development representative who worked with her to secure a work site with Adams County Employment First program where Evangelina learned data entry and assisted program staff with food assistance program needs.

Outcomes & Benefits

Evangelina successfully completed her GED on June 28, 2016. Evangelina has received many kudos from the Employment First program staff for her attention to detail and ability to work in fast paced environment to get her work completed. She has been given advanced work opportunities with the program due to her excellent work ethic. In addition she has opportunity to apply for a recent job opportunity through the program.
