Eugene was working as a salesman and installer for TV equipment. Due to his age, he felt he was going to lose his job because he could no longer do the work that was required. He is a veteran, his kids are grown and he lives alone. He needed something that would give him job security for a few more years.

Workforce Solution

Eugene drove vehicles in the military and decided that he wanted to get a CDLA license so he could get a job as a truck driver. Eugene was awarded a WIOA scholarship to attend truck driving school.

Outcomes & Benefits

Eugene completed his truck-driving training, received his CDLA license and obtained employment with a good company as a driver. He is making an excellent salary, loves his new career and now has financial security until he is able to retire. He is extremely grateful for the assistance he received through our workforce center.
