Meet Priscilla

Homeless and living on $4,500 of alimony, Priscilla wanted to become a respiratory therapist, but she could not afford the training.

Workforce Solution

At the Workforce Development Board (WDB) High Desert America's Job Center of California, Priscilla received individual counseling, career assessment and skills training. Additionally, she received funding to attend American Career College in Ontario.

Outcomes & Benefits

Priscilla graduated from respiratory therapy school and passed all the medical boards. The following month she was offered two positions. She accepted a position as a per diem respiratory therapist with Desert Valley Hospital. Priscilla was extremely grateful for the assistance. In a letter, she thanked the WDB for its positive impact in her life.
