Meet Jake

Workforce Challenge

Jake is a long-term unemployed individual who had not been able to reconnect with a job that provided comparable responsibility and pay. At his last place of employment, he was the Asset Coordinator for an oil and gas company. He was in college for one year where he was studying Kinesiology, but he was unable to complete his degree.

Workforce Solution

Jake came to Employment Services of Weld County seeking to enhance his current skills to become more marketable in the Business/Administration field. He was co-enrolled in the Dislocated Worker Governor's Long-term program and Dislocated Worker programs.

Outcomes & Benefits

Jake successfully completed his first semester and began his second semester at Aims Community College where he is working on a certificate in business marketing. He continues to be an honor student. While taking classes, Jake continued to look for full-time employment and obtained a full-time position with Weld County Human Services as an Eligibility Trainee.
