Meet Chase

Workforce Challenge

On probation and burdened with a criminal history, Chase was unable to find employment. Despite these challenges, he attended a reentry workshop and demonstrated unwavering determination to find a career.

Workforce Solution

Workforce Development Board counselors obtained a letter from his probation officer, as well as a pre-hire letter from an employer. During their counseling sessions, Chase demonstrated resolute determination and a willingness to accomplish any and all tasks. He decided to attend truck driver training at Roadmasters in Fontana. In addition, he learned how to market his skills, discuss conviction questions and improve his soft skills. Counselors also provided extensive job placement services.

Outcomes & Benefits

Chase was soon offered employment with DT Trucking in Filmore as a long distance truck driver. He is happily traversing roadways throughout the country. He says, "I am so grateful to AJCC for providing me with the support I needed to secure a great career."
