Meet Cuatlatohuac

Workforce Challenge

Cuatlatohuac came to the Adams County Workforce & Business Center in October 2015 seeking assistance with CDL training to obtain his CDLA. At time of application Cuatlatohuac was unemployed and his previous work history consisted of entry level mechanic, with no educational background. His most recent job was as a waiter. He was ready to start a career in a field he always wanted, but he couldn’t afford the training cost on his own.

Workforce Solution

He received a WIOA scholarship, and a couple months later he obtained his CDLA license.

Outcomes & Benefits

By January Cuatlatohuac reported to his Case Manager he had secured employment with a local company, making almost twice as much as he had made at his previous jobs. Cuatlatohuac is very grateful for the assistance he received, and his goal is to advance in his new career.

Thanks to WIOA assistance, Cuatlatohuac not only was able to go back into the workforce, but he also started a new career with an income increase.
