Meet Kirsten

Workforce Challenge

Kirsten came to the Adams County Workforce & Business Center to enroll in the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act programs. She wanted to obtain her GED and go through her employer's CNA program. However, paying for GED was not in her means as she is a part time caregiver for Right at Home and a single mother of 2 boys.

Workforce Solution

The Adams County Workforce & Business Center was able to help Kirsten immediately by enrolling her in the Youth Succeed program and paying for her GED costs to get her started.

Outcomes & Benefits

Kirsten has been enrolled and has started her GED pre-tests. Having her GED is the first step towards career advancement and a more stable living situation for her and her sons.
