Meet Kati

Workforce Challenge

Kati applied to Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act with the hopes of obtaining her GED. She is a young mother who was struggling financially and had to drop out of high school due to personal problems.

Workforce Solution

When Kati came into the program, staff recommended she return to high school instead of pursuing her GED. WIOA supported her with credit recovery, and she returned to McLain High School. She also received assistance with child care for her son through the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).

Outcomes & Benefits

Kati graduated in December 2015 from McLain High School. She is now attending Red Rocks Community College for an Associates of Applied Science (AAS) degree. She is proud to have set goals and completed them and looks forward to setting more goals in the future.
