Meet Albert

Workforce Challenge

After leaving prison, Albert needed to find employment. His parole officer referred him to the Workforce Investment Board for free job assistance services.

Workforce Solution

Albert attended and completed various skill-building workshops. He also received individual career counseling, assistance with finding job leads and information on how to answer the conviction question. The Workforce Investment Board funded Class A driver license training courses for him, and he successfully passed the license examination. Most significantly, Albert says he received ‘hope’ from the Workforce Investment Board staff.

Outcomes & Benefits

Albert was able to find employment and get off parole. He found a Class A Driver position at a temporary agency and drove for them for one year. Recently, he was hired for a permanent driving job. Albert says, “I am greatly blessed in my professional and personal life. I fully appreciate all the reentry program did for me.”
