Meet Josephvon

Workforce Challenge

Josephvon was in need of credit recovery assistance and motivation to continue attending high school to complete her credit requirements to graduate high school. As a single parent of a son, Josephvon struggled to attend classes regularly due to child care, transportation, and paying for night classes.

Workforce Solution

The Youth Succeed program was able to help pay for her credit recovery needs and provide gas assistance for her to make it to school. They also worked with a case manager to get family to care for her son while she attended school. These supports enabled Josephvon to focus on her graduation credit needs.

Outcomes & Benefits

Josephvon successfully graduated from North Valley High School on December 18, 2015. This graduation date is special as she graduated 2 semesters early and successfully went on to secure employment as a personal care provider and is working with her case manager to get CNA certified which will help her advance in her current position. Josephvon then hopes to enroll in college while working to obtain her degree as a registered nurse. Congratulations, Josephvon! Shoot for the stars!
