Meet Larimer County Commissioner's Office

Workforce Challenge

The Larimer County Commissioner's office needed help with their workload. They opted to find help through the Larimer County Workforce Center's internship program. Donna, the Commissioner's Business Operations Manager, reached out with their needs and were sent three candidates who were interested in pursuing an internship. They were very happy with the person they chose; however, they discovered this particular person had different interests and were able to transition her where her needs were met.

Workforce Solution

The program sent a few more candidates to the Commissioner’s office, and the person they chose has worked out well ever since. They considered her the perfect fit for the work they were trying to accomplish and ended up creating a position for her. She is now working full time, and both the office and the employee are very happy.

Outcomes & Benefits

Donna has great things to say about the program. She was very impressed with not only the quality of candidates but the support that was given to them after the intern began. She had a direct contact through the program so that when any questions arose, she could be assured a quick resolution. They believe the program offered many benefits to them. "But the main reason we decided to hire an intern," Donna said, “is that it was an opportunity to help another person reenter the workforce."
