Meet Daniel

Workforce Challenge

Daniel lost his job of seven years as a team leader for an airline due to massive lay-offs. After he lost his job, the most difficult challenge that he faced was finding a similar job and making similar amount to remain self-sufficient.

Workforce Solution

The Denver Workforce Center in collaboration with Colorado Department of Labor and Employment provided rapid response to employees that were impacted by the massive lay-off. Daniel was using Connecting Colorado for his job search where he got a Team Leader, Ramp Agent job lead with Simplicity Ground Services, LLC. The Denver Workforce Center and Simplicity Ground Services formed a partnership to provide Daniel on-the-job training opportunity.

Outcomes & Benefits

Daniel started his on-the-job training in April 2015 as a Team Leader. After two weeks, his wage increased 16%. He completed training successfully and started working full time as a Team Leader in October 2015. He received a strong evaluation. Daniel’s hard work & strong performance not only landed him with similar job in the same industry, but his participation in the program enabled him to make more than what he had been earning before he was laid off.
