Meet Rachel

Workforce Challenge

Rachel was an unemployed CNA who was faced with her last semester of nursing school and relied on her parents financially. Rachel was considered "low income" coming into the workforce center, and after PELL and COF funding for school was applied, Rachel was still faced with remaining school debt that she had no financial means for. She looked to WIA to be able to alleviate the financial burden on her parents who were helping her with her bills.

Workforce Solution

Rachel was approved to receive WIOA funding to help her complete her degree and become eligible to take her NCLEX exam to find employment. She was also able to get assistance with her resume on a last minute call so she could apply to her ideal BSN position.

Outcomes & Benefits

Rachel landed her dream job and was employed within two months of completing her training program. She is no longer considered low income, and also no longer relies on her parent's financial support. She is now happily employed!
