Meet ARC Thrift Stores

Workforce Challenge

ARC Thrift Stores are a Colorado owned and operated non-profit store that benefits Coloradans with intellectual/developmental disabilities. ARC is very well known for their thrift stores and donations. However, ARC also operates a call center for donation schedulers and telemarketers. While the call center operates year round, the need grows with the holiday season. ARC had a need to fill 14 entry level positions quickly, and was having a hard time doing so in the job current market.

Workforce Solution

Business Service Representatives from the workforce center met with ARC to strategize methods that would bring more attention to their open positions. One solution was to have them attend various hiring events sponsored by the workforce center. The first event on the calendar was the Seasonal/Temporary Employment Fair. This fair focuses on seasonal and temporary employment, and is a big draw for job seekers looking for part-time customer service related positions. This was a perfect fit for ARC Thrift Stores!

Outcomes & Benefits

The employer attended the event, and was able to hire 10 people, which is a huge success! Here is what the recruiter had to say after the event, “With the job market strengthening in Denver, ARC finds it increasing difficult to find applicants for our starting wage. This was a great turnout for us. Really enjoyed the opportunity to meet potential applicants! Thanks again!” ARC was beyond happy with their results. They will now be joining in on other events hosted by the workforce center.
