Meet Marvin

Workforce Challenge

Marvin came to the Adams County Workforce & Business Center in November 2014 seeking tuition assistance to finish his Associates degree in Wind Energy. At time of his application, Marvin was working two part time jobs, and he was struggling to pay for school. His current and previous jobs had been in either retail or fast food, and he was ready to start a career.

Workforce Solution

Marvin received a WIOA scholarship and was able to successfully complete his training. He received his degree by June of 2015.

Outcomes & Benefits

By July Marvin reported to his Case Manager he had secured employment in his field of study.

Thanks to WIOA assistance, Marvin not only was able to start a career and move out from minimum wage paying jobs, but he is now making a living wage. He reported on his last contact with his Case Manager that he is busy and happily traveling for his job.
