Meet Rebecca

Workforce Challenge

Rebecca was a single mother of four. She was unemployed and a disabled veteran. She was separated from her last employment as a CNA due to her service-connected disability that no longer allowed her to lift more than 50 pounds. She needed employment that would not require lifting. Her prior experience was in electronics in the military back in 1992-93. Without further training or education, she would not be able to apply her military skills to the current workforce. Her other skills include cleaning and CSR.

Workforce Solution

Between the collaboration of Veteran Services and WIOA, we were able to help Rebecca get into Blackfox training program partnership between Lockheed Martin, Blackfox, and WFC's. Rebecca had her associate's degree that she had recently obtained in May 2015, but without the Blackfox training that meets Lockheed Martin's hiring standards she would not have been able to obtain employment earning sustainable wages without prior or recent experience.

Outcomes & Benefits

Rebecca was offered employment, and she accepted before she even completed her training. She is now employed full time at Lockheed Martin thanks to her IPC training she received from Blackfox Institute. She is very grateful to have had this partnership opportunity and doesn't believe this opportunity would have been available otherwise!
