State Farm Agent, Cory

Workforce Challenge

The greatest obstacle State Farm Agent Cory has is finding qualified candidates and training employees. Each employee must have their Property & Casualty License as well as their Life & Health License through the State of Michigan. It is also necessary for new employees to learn the State Farm computer system and about their products. This onboarding process can be very time consuming. She sought the assistance of Michigan Works!

Workforce Solution

Michigan Works! staff Nicole assisted Cory by enrolling two new employees into on-the-job training (OJT) programs, which provided financial resources for training.

Outcomes & Benefits

Both trainings were successful, and her new employees are working out great! Cory says, “The OJT Program has allowed me resources to add a staff member to my office and assist with training that is involved when onboarding a new employee. Both the financial resources and the support of my local Business Services Professional has been a great help to both my trainees and myself. I hope that this program will continue to be available to our Michigan Small Business Owners."
