Meet Eve

Workforce Challenge

Eve had not been in the Employment First program very long. She was eager to work, but she was unable to gain full-time employment. Creating an additional challenge for herself, she missed our orientation class and was in danger of losing her food benefits.

Workforce Solution

The risk of losing her food benefits for her and her children became motivation enough to take the classes seriously and focus on gaining employment.

Outcomes & Benefits

Not only did Eve refocus her attention on learning new interview techniques, she put them to good use. In a two-week period she had multiple job offers. She settled on the a local insurance agency close to her home and began full-time employment, making $12.50 per hour. Based on her gaining full-time employment, the Employment First program was able to give her an incentive of $60 in gas cards for her hard work.
