Meet Elodi

Workforce Challenge

Elodi was supporting two children while going to school for her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. Balancing the demands of family, work and school was very challenging. Her jobs were flexible enough for her to raise children and attend school at the same time, but they were not related to her field of interest, criminal justice.

Workforce Solution

Elodi was enrolled in Boulder County Housing and Human Services' Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Program. Through the program, she set educational and self-sufficiency goals and then, she was referred to the Training Team. A workforce representative met with Elodi one-on-one to review her resume and practice interview skills.

Outcomes & Benefits

Elodi graduated with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, and she will soon graduate from the FSS program as well. She recently found employment with Boulder County Community Justice Services, and she will be finding stable, affordable housing though the local Housing Authority. Her big takeaway from the FSS program is to continually set goals.
