Little Valley Wholesale Nursery

Workforce Challenge

Little Valley Wholesale Nursery, a company located in Brighton, CO, needed to fill approximately 100 seasonal labor positions. They were unsure where to turn, but remembered that the Migrant and Seasonal Farm Worker (MSFW) coordinator had paid them a visit several months ago, and spoke about the services available through the workforce center. Although Little Valley was not looking to hire migrant seasonal farm workers, they contacted the Adams County Workforce & Business Center hoping that other assistance was available.

Workforce Solution

Workforce representatives from both the MSFW program and Business Services were able to meet with Little Valley Wholesale Nursery the very same day, and provide immediate assistance. The employer was provided information about posting their open positions with the workforce center, customized hiring events, workforce intelligence data, and about resources available to their workers during the off season through Rocky Mountain SER.

Outcomes & Benefits

Little Valley Wholesale Nursery now has an active account on Connecting Colorado and several open positions posted. They will be hosting a hiring event at the Adams County Workforce & Business Center, and will be attending the annual Youth Job and Resource Fair next month. They have also received a competitive wage analysis report for their open administrative positions. Although still in the process of hiring, they are now in a much better position to fill their workforce needs.
