Workforce Success Story Submitted By:
Larimer County Workforce Center

Meet Brandi

Workforce Challenge

Brandi came to the Larimer County Workforce Center when she applied for TANF cash assistance. She was trying to raise her child and was having a hard time finding work. She wanted to increase her knowledge and develop the professional skills to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Workforce Solution

The Larimer County Workforce Center's Internship program worked with Brandi by having career development discussions with her. Brandi was placed at a local Adult Daycare Service where she could be exposed to the types of work a CNA would perform. Her position was Activity Assistant and seeing the work in action solidified her desire to become a CNA.

Outcomes & Benefits

Brandi completed her internship successfully but did not have the funds to enroll in a formal CNA program. The Larimer County Workforce Center's Internship program collaborated with the Larimer County Workforce Center Career Transition Team (CTT) to help Brandi. CTT was able to help Brandi with tuition assistance and she enrolled in CNA classes, bringing her one step closer to her new career.
