Meet Chelsea

Workforce Challenge

Chelsea came to the Adams County Workforce & Business Center after being laid off. She had very little education beyond high school and has two small children. She was on food stamps at the time.

Workforce Solution

Chelsea received a Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) scholarship and supportive services under the WIA Dislocated Worker program. She started school and completed the program to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Outcomes & Benefits

Chelsea started her first job as an LPN in October, 2014 making $3 more an hour than she made at her previous job. She loves her new career.
