Meet Angela

Workforce Challenge

Angela participated in the Characteristics Common to Female Ex-Offenders (CCFExO) program and impressed the Denver Workforce Center with her work ethic and commitment to staying in high school. She worked part-time and continued to make education a priority by attending class and working hard. Due to her employment and educational status, she exited the Denver program last winter.

Workforce Solution

A few months later, however, Angela lost her job and has since become re-engaged with the CCFExO program. Through the program, Angela was offered a work experience at The Butterfly Pavilion, where she will learn great on-the-job skills for her career.

Outcomes & Benefits

Angela is now back on track. She is interested in studying animal biology after she completes high school. The Butterfly Pavilion offers her a chance to work on research projects and even have the opportunity to be published in an academic journal while assisting the researchers. Her commitment to education and self-sufficiency has helped her take advantage of the opportunities that come her way.
